We dispatched our hunger fire investigation team and the cause of this burning question, has the following outcome:
The first line of defense for a minor hunger fire is our Single portion. This method of extinguishment weighs 8 – 10 ounces and is designed to extinguish a minor hunger fire, control and diminish weight and control money burn.
Too address a major hunger fire the Double portion weighs 16 – 24 ounces and is designed to extinguish the 5-11 hunger fire or you might just be kind enough to share.
Yes, because everything we cook/serve is prepared fresh and never sees a preservative. Your meals stay fresh for 7–10 days in the refrigerator. We do, however, have a disclaimer on salads. Due to the nature of greens, we shorten the shelf life to 3–4 days in the refrigerator.
Absolutely. You can freeze your meals, especially if you do not intend to eat them within the 7-day “best if used by” date. That said, fresh is always the best. Please remember when heating from frozen, additional time is required from the time stated above.
Fire Dept. Meals would strongly advise against freezing meals that contain uncooked greens, like salads.
Not only can you heat your meals in the oven, but this is how we typically reheat our meals! Our new packaging is oven safe. Just remove the film and cover with foil to maintain moisture. We would recommend 1o – 15 minutes in a preheated oven at 350 degrees. These are recommendations and heating my vary based on your personal preferences.
Our bread is so fresh, that it’s better than if you made it yourself. We have partnered with “Old Hearth Bread Company” to make all our breads. We have searched long and hard to find a company, that has the same ethical wherewithal that we believe in.
Our breads contains NO preservative or funky additives to make it last weeks. So what does that mean? This means that you need to REFRIGERATE immediately upon receiving your order, this will maintain the quality of the bread and keep it from getting the fuzzies.
